Sanemi eagerly seeks battles, especially desiring encounters with Upper Rank demons like Kokushibo.
His cold demeanor stems from the loss of loved ones in the past. However, when encountering figures from his past, such as his mother, he cannot help but smile at the reunion. Although initially dismissive towards Genya, whom he sees join the Demon Slayers, Tanjiro recognizes Sanemi's underlying brotherly affection. Despite his attempts to distance Genya for his safety, Sanemi still cares deeply for him.
As a Hashira, Sanemi exhibits remarkable combat skills, demonstrated during sparring matches with Giyu Tomioka and in battles within the Infinity Castle. He effortlessly dispatches hordes of demons comparable to Lower Ranks and holds his ground against Kokushibo, Upper Rank One.
