Tanjiro's Scar Fully Explained

Fans of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba talked a lot about Tanjiro's scar for one and a half seasons, not sure what it meant. For the second time in the "Entertainment District" arc, Shinjuro Rengoku, father of the late Kyojuro, answered one of the anime's most burning questions.

It happened that the mark on Tanjiro's forehead did mean something, instead of just being a burn like Todoroki's from hot water.

Tanjiro wasn't born with this scar on his forehead. Instead, he got it when he pushed his little brother away from a pot of hot tea. In the start of Demon Slayer, the scar was a light-pink, round mark.

The only noteworthy thing about his scar in the series' early days was that, despite it being the result of an accident, and not a birthmark, Tanjiro's father bore a near-identical mark on his own forehead.

However, his dad's scar was never talked about, and the show seemed okay with leaving it as just a random thing.
